Light jets are the working category on most short-to-mid Switzerland trips. Six to eight seats, range typically 1,500 to 2,000 nautical miles, and a runway profile that handles Zurich and Geneva straight through. The category covers most of Western Europe and reaches into Scandinavia and North Africa as a comfortable single leg.
Typical Aircraft
The Cessna Citation CJ2 and CJ3, the Citation Bravo, the Citation II, the Citation V, the Citation Encore, the Beechjet 400/400A, the Learjet 31 and 35, and the Premier I/IA are the working light-jet platforms. Cabin layout is comfortable for six to eight passengers, with full enclosed lavatories on most platforms.
When Light Jets Fit the Switzerland Trip
Zurich or Geneva to London, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, or Copenhagen all fit a light jet. Trips to smaller UK regional airports or into Scandinavia also work well in this category. Routes to North Africa, such as Marrakech or Tunis, are within range from Geneva on the right airframe. Altitude and runway limits at mountain airports are operator-specific; your advisor will confirm before quoting for any Alpine destination.

Switzerland-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Ski season runs December through March and drives the sharpest demand spikes we see. Samedan airport (serving St. Moritz) and Bern-Belp (serving the Bernese Oberland, including Grindelwald) handle mountain transfers; book early for January and February. The World Economic Forum in Davos each January compresses Zurich-area availability significantly. Art Basel in June is the Basel demand window.
