Switzerland Bombardier Global 8000 Charter

The Bombardier Global 8000 is the December 2025 successor to the Global 7500, with 8,000 nautical miles of range and a demonstrated Mach 0.94 dive that made it the fastest civilian aircraft since the Concorde. for Switzerland clients, the 8000 is a brand-new airframe in the market, and every operating rule that applies to the 7500 at GVA applies here too: this is an ZRH departure at full fuel, not an GVA one.

Bombardier announced entry into service of the Global 8000 in December 2025. The airframe shares the 7500’s wing and cabin architecture with fuel-system and engine tuning that stretches range to 8,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 and pushes maximum operating Mach to 0.94. Length is 102.2 feet, wingspan 104 feet, tail height 27.1 feet. Cabin is trimmed for 14 in a typical layout and up to 19 max.

Why the Bombardier Global 8000 Fits Switzerland

The Bombardier Global 8000 is built for nonstop intercontinental flying, and Geneva and Zurich are both comfortable with it. Both airports are fully slot-coordinated. The window is agreed rather than chosen, and that matters more on a long-haul departure than the aircraft does. Geneva needs prior approval for a layover of more than a few hours, so if the aircraft is waiting rather than turning, that is arranged in advance. Your advisor will confirm what the operator can actually do on your dates before anything is booked.

Switzerland-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

Charter demand in Switzerland concentrates around ski season, running December through March,
with Samedan (LSZS) and Bern-Belp (LSZB) seeing the heaviest private traffic during that period.
The World Economic Forum at Davos drives January demand to a sharp peak in eastern Switzerland.
Art Basel in June, the Locarno Film Festival in August, and the Montreux Jazz Festival over the summer
each bring concentrated charter demand. Geneva (GVA) and Zurich (ZRH) handle the bulk of inbound
and outbound flights, with Euroairport Basel-Mulhouse (BSL) serving the Basel corridor. Slot and
ground-handler coordination matters at all three; your advisor plans around it from the outset.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
