Switzerland Gulfstream G650 / G6 Charter

The Gulfstream G650 is the 2012 ultra-long-range Gulfstream that established the Mach 0.90 high-speed cruise as the new normal for the top of the market. Range at 7,000 nautical miles on the baseline G650 and 7,500 on the G650ER puts the world inside a one-stop mission from Switzerland for real. for Switzerland ultra-HNW clients, the G650 family is one of the two ownership answers (the other being the Global 7500) that keeps coming up.

Gulfstream Aerospace FAA-certified the G650 in September 2012, with first customer delivery that December. The G650ER launched in 2014 with 7,500 nautical mile range. The airframe carries Rolls-Royce BR725 turbofans, PlaneView II avionics, and a cabin trimmed for 11 in a spacious layout and up to 18 max. Overall length is 99.8 feet, wingspan 99.6 feet, tail height 25.8 feet.

Why the Gulfstream G650 / G6 Fits Switzerland

Long-range aircraft like the Gulfstream G650 / G6 are what Swiss clients book when the trip crosses an ocean without a fuel stop. Geneva’s 12,795-foot runway is the longest in Switzerland and Zurich’s longest is 12,139 feet, so a full-fuel intercontinental departure is a normal day at either. Both airports are fully slot-coordinated. The window is agreed rather than chosen, and that matters more on a long-haul departure than the aircraft does. Tell us the dates and the destination and we will tell you what the airports allow before you commit to anything.

Switzerland-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

Charter demand in Switzerland concentrates around ski season, running December through March,
with Samedan (LSZS) and Bern-Belp (LSZB) seeing the heaviest private traffic during that period.
The World Economic Forum at Davos drives January demand to a sharp peak in eastern Switzerland.
Art Basel in June, the Locarno Film Festival in August, and the Montreux Jazz Festival over the summer
each bring concentrated charter demand. Geneva (GVA) and Zurich (ZRH) handle the bulk of inbound
and outbound flights, with Euroairport Basel-Mulhouse (BSL) serving the Basel corridor. Slot and
ground-handler coordination matters at all three; your advisor plans around it from the outset.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
